Rev. Helen Appelberg speaks on learning to live abundantly while aging. Appelberg is a retired Episcopal priest who has been an advocate for continuing to live well as one ages. She was key in starting an annual conference on aging called Abundant Living, where people at all stages of life are encouraged to embrace aging as a spiritual journey and to live life to the fullest.
The La Marque High School marching band performs a song from their marching show, Heavy Metal. La Marque has been working on their show and adding more to every performance. The band is made up of 30 students and has been growing in talent and size every year.
Audrey Davenport reads to Galveston children at Rosenberg Library as part of the program Drag Queen Story Hour. The program is being run in conjunction with Galveston pride events this month. Davenport read two books promoting inclusivity, "From the Stars in the Sky to the Fish in the Sea" and "Julián is a Mermaid."
Samantha Serrurier is a 24-year old college student living in Columbia, Missouri. Serrurier became a mother to her son, Chandler, eight months ago. Samantha is currently raising Chandler alone. While juggling the daily duties of motherhood, she is also completing her degree in Psychology and working two jobs.
